St Pius X pupils discuss the importance of gender equality.

A group of P7 pupils from St Pius X primary school share their views on gender equality in the home in a new short film.

Gender inequality in household chores could cause domestic abuse if the chores aren’t split equally because one person could start an argument and that leads to a fight.” - P7 pupil, St Pius X.

Having benefitted themselves from lessons about gender equality in the home, the P7 group volunteered to be part of a kids-teaching-kids initiative devised by their class teacher.  A clever way to reinforce the P7s learning whilst introducing P2s to this important topic.

Listening to the children’s experiences

We recognise the importance of listening to children. They are curious, interested and ready to share their views.  Their opinions count and help us to understand the impact of our resources and how children relate them to their own lives.

We hope other schools will be inspired St Pius X’s kids-teaching-kids initiative to use our free resources Share the Chores School Tool Kit is available to all Dundee primary schools.
